Flood-affected residents across the Northern Rivers are being urged to act now to secure support to repair, rebuild, or improve their homes before applications close for the NSW Government’s Resilient Homes Program at the end of March.
State Nationals MP for Clarence Richie Williamson said the program remained a critical pathway for locals still recovering from the devastating 2022 floods, with time running out to apply.
Williamson said time is running out for eligible residents to access vital support, with new applications closing on 31 March 2026.
“I want to make sure each and every person who is eligible for support receives it, but the deadline is fast approaching,” Williamson said.
“It’s not too late to register, but I strongly encourage residents to act today and ensure their application is submitted before the cut-off.”
The Resilient Homes Program offers practical support to help Northern Rivers homeowners make their properties safer and more resilient to future floods, including funding for repairs, retrofits, and home buybacks in high-risk areas.
Williamson also urged residents not to rule themselves out.
“It is very important that residents register for the program, even if they are unsure if they qualify. Registering allows program staff to properly assess each application and ensure no one misses out,” he said.

The approaching deadline also applies to the Repair to Return Program, which funds essential repairs to get disaster-damaged homes back to a safe, liveable standard.
Applications for that program will also close on 31 March 2026. More information is available at: https://resilientlismore.org.au/services/repair-to-return/
To help locals navigate the process, the NSW Reconstruction Authority is hosting drop-in sessions across the region, giving residents a chance to speak directly with staff and get assistance with applications.
