A man has faced court today after being charged following an investigation into an alleged sexual assault in West Ballina last year.
About 12.30 am on Wednesday, 6 August 2025, police were called to a home in West Ballina following reports of a sexual assault.
Police were told a man had entered the home before allegedly sexually assaulting a woman.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 37-year-old man at Grafton Police Station yesterday, Wednesday, 6 May.
He was charged with enter dwelling with intent (not steal/destroy/damage) and aggravated sexual assault – victim with cognitive impairment.
