Byron Bay will host two markets over the October long weekend, with the Twilight Market returning for summer before the Community Market takes over Main Beach the following day.
The Byron Twilight Market will launch its 2026–27 season at Railway Park on Saturday, 3 October, running from 4pm to 9pm.
Local makers, artists, designers, food producers and musicians will fill the park for the evening market, which will feature food, live music and locally made products.
Byron Markets Manager Carl Taylor said the opening weekend was an opportunity to celebrate the creativity and community spirit behind the markets.
“We’re excited to launch the new Twilight Market season with a full weekend of markets in the centre of Byron Bay,” Carl said. “The Twilight and Community Markets each have their own unique vibe, but both are about bringing people together, showcasing local talent and giving small local businesses a welcoming place to connect with locals and visitors.”
The Byron Community Market will follow on Sunday, 4 October, running from 8am to 3pm at Main Beach.
Operating since 1987, the market features handmade products, fashion, art, food, homewares, wellbeing stalls, live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
Community Market Coordinator Natwah Petruszka said the two markets would give locals and visitors different ways to experience Byron Bay over the long weekend.
“There’s something really special about seeing Railway Park come alive on a warm Saturday evening and then welcoming everyone back for the Community Market beside the beach on Sunday,” Natwah said. “It’s a wonderful chance to meet the people behind local businesses, discover something original, enjoy great food and live music and experience the relaxed community atmosphere that makes Byron Markets so unique.”
The October long weekend also marks the start of the Twilight Market’s summer season, with the market returning to Railway Park every Saturday from October through to April.
Stallholder applications remain open for local makers, artists, food producers and other creatives interested in taking part in the Twilight and Community markets.
Byron Markets are operated by the Byron Community Centre as a social enterprise, supporting more than 300 local businesses and raising funds for community programs and services, including Fletcher Street Cottage and Byron Seniors.
Live music over the weekend will include performances by Versace Boys and Mark Fulcher, also known as Resonant Hand.
