Man dies after being pulled from water near Coffs Harbour

A man has died after being pulled from the water at a beach near Coffs Harbour.

Emergency services were called to Emerald Beach about 6.55pm on Wednesday, 11 March, following reports that an unresponsive man had been pulled from the water.

A member of the public began CPR before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived.

The 36-year-old man was taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital in a critical condition.

Police were later notified the man died in hospital earlier Thursday, 12 March.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District will prepare a report for the coroner.
