Flood refuge reborn as Evans Head holiday hotspot

A site that sheltered flood-ravaged families after the 2022 disaster has been reborn as a holiday getaway at Evans Head.

Reflections Holidays has opened six tiny homes and 20 powered sites at The Terrace on Oak Lane, part of Reflections Evans Head.

The precinct was used as temporary emergency housing after the 2022 floods. It was returned to Crown Land manager Reflections Holidays in late 2025.

Reflections has since poured $2.5 million into the site, including the tiny homes, landscaping, and an IT upgrade.

Four of the tiny homes sleep four people and two sleep two. Each has a covered deck and its own parking. The Terrace connects directly to the park’s Riverside precinct.

Reflections is the largest holiday park group in New South Wales, with 40 parks.

Minister for Recovery and Minister for North Coast Janelle Saffin said the site had played a vital role when the Northern Rivers needed it most.

“The Terrace at Evans Head played a vital role in providing secure, temporary housing for Northern Rivers residents during an incredibly challenging time following the 2022 floods,” said Minister for Recovery and Minister for North Coast Janelle Saffin.

“As our community continues to recover and rebuild, it is wonderful to see this site thoughtfully transitioned into a space that welcomes visitors back to our beautiful region, helping to support local small businesses and boost the North Coast tourism economy.”

Reflections Holidays CEO Nick Baker said the park was among the group’s most popular.

“Evans Head is a beautiful destination and one of our most popular parks, and our team has worked hard to transform The Terrace precinct to a beautiful space that meets demand from our guests for both tiny homes and camping sites,” said Reflections Holidays CEO Nick Baker.
