With just one month to go, Groovin the Moo is gearing up for its return to the live music circuit, with the event set to bring major acts and local talent to Lismore.
The festival will take place at Oakes Oval on Saturday 9 May, marking a highly anticipated comeback for the regional touring event and forming part of this year’s Great Southern Nights program.
The 2026 lineup features a mix of Australian and international artists, including Baker Boy, Denzel Curry, Dope Lemon, Matt Corby and Ninajirachi.
Organisers say the event is designed to celebrate live music and community, with a focus on bringing people together through a diverse program of performances.
The lineup has now expanded, with Jimi The Kween joining the bill. Known for a dynamic mix of music, dance and performance, Jimi The Kween has built a strong following both in Australia and internationally.
Alongside the headline acts, local artists will also have the opportunity to take the stage through the Planet Music Homegrown Hero competition.
Five finalists — Mr Rhodes, Human Dinosaur Machine, Pippin, Nazare and Sun Wilde — will compete for the opening slot at the festival.
The live finals will be held at the Lismore Workers Club Auditorium on Friday 24 April, with the free, all-ages event open to the public.
The festival will run from 11am to 10pm and is open to all ages, with ticket options available including general admission, VIP packages and discounted youth tickets.
Organisers say the return of Groovin the Moo to Lismore reflects the ongoing strength of regional music events and the importance of supporting local venues and communities.
The event is expected to draw crowds from across the Northern Rivers and beyond, providing a boost to the local economy and live music scene.
