Coffs Harbour secures return of National Youth Championships

Coffs Harbour will again host one of Australia’s premier junior sporting events, with the 2026 DoorDash National Youth Championships confirmed for the coastal city.

The event’s return marks a third consecutive year on the Coffs Coast, reinforcing the region’s growing reputation as a major destination for national sport and delivering more than $5 million in annual economic benefit to the local economy.

Delivered in partnership with Touch Football Australia (TFA) and Destination NSW, the championships will bring hundreds of players, officials and supporters to the region, providing a boost to local businesses and tourism operators.

Mayor Nikki Williams said the event highlighted Coffs Harbour’s appeal as a host city.

“This is a major event for Coffs Harbour and one of the most anticipated on our sporting calendar,” Williams said.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase our region to visitors from across the country, while also giving locals the chance to see some of Australia’s emerging talent.

“Our beaches, relaxed lifestyle and centralised sports precinct make Coffs Harbour an ideal destination for events of this scale.”

The C.ex Coffs International Stadium precinct will again serve as the tournament hub, allowing all matches to be played at a single, purpose-built venue.

Beyond the on-field action, the championships are expected to drive visitation during the spring period, supporting accommodation providers, hospitality venues and local attractions.

TFA chief executive Marcus Ashcroft said Coffs Harbour continued to deliver a high-quality experience for participants.

“The facilities and hospitality in Coffs Harbour make it a standout host for this event,” Ashcroft said.

“The city has become a fantastic home for the National Youth Championships, and we’re pleased to continue building on that partnership.”

The National Youth Championships is a key event in the sport’s development pathway, showcasing the country’s top junior talent across a four-day competition.

The 2026 tournament will be held at C.ex Coffs International Stadium from 28 September to 1 October, with matches streamed live and free on BarTV.

The event is supported by the NSW Government, through Destination NSW, and the City of Coffs Harbour.
