An 18-year-old woman has been charged with 13 offences following an alleged domestic violence incident, police pursuit and assaults on officers on the Mid North Coast.
Police began investigating on Monday after receiving reports a man had allegedly been assaulted during a domestic violence incident.
Following inquiries, officers attended a Port Macquarie car park about 7pm on Tuesday and attempted to arrest the woman.
Police allege she drove from the car park before officers could arrest her.
About 10pm, officers attempted to stop her vehicle at Sancrox. Police allege she failed to stop as directed, prompting a brief pursuit that was terminated due to safety concerns.
The vehicle was sighted a short time later at Lake Cathie, where police allege the woman accelerated towards a police vehicle, forcing officers to take evasive action.
Her vehicle was later found abandoned on the Oxley Highway and the woman was arrested nearby.
Police allege she resisted arrest and kicked an officer in the leg before being taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.
She was charged with 13 offences, including domestic violence-related assault, stalking or intimidation, being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, negligent driving and failing to comply with a police direction.
The charges also include police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, two counts of hindering or resisting police and three counts of assaulting a police officer in the execution of duty without actual bodily harm.
The woman was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 1 on Wednesday, where she was granted conditional bail.
She is due to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday, September 16.
