CCTV released as investigation continues into suspected assault in Coffs Harbour

Detectives have released CCTV footage as investigations continue into the suspected serious assault of a man at Toormina earlier this year.

Emergency services were called to Anderson Street, near Hobbs Crescent, Toormina, about 5.40am on Monday, 2 February 2026, after a member of the public found a seriously injured man.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man for a significant head injury before he was taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital.

The 27-year-old remains in hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.

Coffs Harbour detectives established Strike Force Larsson to investigate the incident and the suspected assault.

Police have now released CCTV footage showing a man and a woman walking through a reserve between Anderson Street and Courtney Place, Toormina, about 5.10am on Monday, 2 February 2026.

Investigators believe the pair may be able to assist with inquiries and are appealing for them to come forward.

Police are also continuing efforts to locate a weapon believed to have been used in the assault, described as a baseball bat or similar object.
