Two arrested after man’s death in Tweed Heads

A man and a woman have been arrested after a man died on the NSW north coast early on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to a home on Seaview Crescent, Tweed Heads, about 2am following reports a man had been assaulted.

Officers from Tweed/Byron Police District attended and were told a man in his 30s had allegedly been assaulted at The Hermitage in Tweed Heads South by a man known to him before making his way to Seaview Crescent.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man, but he died at the scene.

He has not yet been formally identified.

A short time later, police arrested a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman at a home in Tweed Heads.

They were taken to Tweed Heads Police Station, where inquiries are continuing.

Crime scenes have been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has begun.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
