Woman charged with more than 400 offences after alleged $2m strata fraud

Double demerit points will apply for the holiday season

A 30-year-old woman has been charged with more than 400 fraud-related offences after police alleged she stole more than $2 million from strata trust accounts in the Coffs Harbour area.

Police began investigating in January 2025 after receiving reports of suspected fraudulent activity involving a former employee of a local strata management business. Detectives from Coffs/Clarence Police District established Strike Force Colebrook to investigate.

Police will allege the woman transferred more than $2 million from strata trust accounts into her personal bank account. The money was allegedly spent on personal expenses, including cryptocurrency investments, luxury goods and an SUV.

Detectives arrested the woman at a home in Coffs Harbour about 12.30pm on Thursday.

She was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station and charged with dealing recklessly with proceeds of crime and 403 counts of dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage by deception.

She was refused bail and was due to appear before Bail Division Court 1 on Friday, June 26.
