A 51-year-old woman has been arrested after the body of an elderly man was found in a creek at a property near Ballina.
Police were called to a home on Teven Road at Teven about 12:10pm on Thursday, 3 September, following reports of concern for a person’s welfare.
During a search of the property, officers found the body of a man in a creek.
The man has not yet been formally identified but is believed to be an 81-year-old resident of the property.
Police arrested the woman at the scene before taking her to Lismore Police Station, where inquiries are continuing.
A crime scene has been established as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
