Coffs Coast businesses are being offered free workshops and support to help them prepare for changing economic conditions, including the transition associated with the Coffs Harbour Bypass.
Business strategist and TEDx speaker Giovanna Lever will visit Coffs Harbour on Thursday, 10 September to deliver two free workshops as part of Sparrowly Group’s Build Better Business Regional Training Roadshow.
Lever, an award-winning industry development professional who has worked with more than 5,000 businesses across Australia, will focus on business resilience and improving customer experiences.
City of Coffs Harbour Economic Development and Tourism Section Leader Nicole McLennan said the workshops formed part of the Coffs Ahead Program, which aimed to give businesses practical support ahead of anticipated changes.
“With the bypass getting closer, now is the time for businesses to think about what might change and what they can do to be ready,” McLennan said.
“We are very fortunate to have someone of Giovanna’s calibre coming to Coffs Harbour. She understands business resilience, customer experience and the visitor economy, and has worked with thousands of businesses across Australia.
“These are genuinely valuable sessions and I’d encourage local businesses not to miss the opportunity.
“If you walk away with one great idea or one valuable connection that helps your business, it’s time well spent.”
Coffs Harbour was selected to host the Sparrowly Group roadshow following a national expression of interest process supporting regional communities.
The first workshop, Building Business Resilience, will run from 10am to noon at the Central Events Space at C.ex Coffs International Stadium. It will cover practical ways businesses can strengthen their operations, respond to change and build resilience.
A second workshop, Welcoming All Customers, will run from 2pm to 4pm and is aimed particularly at visitor economy businesses. It will focus on improving customer experiences and making businesses more accessible and welcoming.
The workshops are also open to businesses from Bellingen Shire and the Nambucca Valley.
Further free workshops will be held through the Coffs Ahead Program during September.
Alicia Smith from The Social Flip will lead Social Media with a Strategy sessions on Tuesday, 15 September from 1pm to 2:30 pm and Wednesday, 16 September from 5:15 pm to 6:45 pm at Business at Yarrila.
The workshops will focus on helping businesses plan content, reach their target audiences and use social media more strategically.
Phil Dawson from Trusted Advisor will lead Build a Team Good People Want to Join at Yarrila Place on Wednesday, 23 September from 5:15 pm to 6:45 pm.
The session will focus on attracting employees, building workplace culture and improving business performance.
