A man believed to be in his 70s has died after being struck by a car in Wharf Street, Tweed Heads, on Saturday night.
Emergency services were called to Wharf Street about 11.30pm on Saturday, 10 October, after reports of a crash.
Officers from Tweed-Byron Police District attended and were told a pedestrian had been hit by a car. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man, but he died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
The driver, a 29-year-old woman, was not injured. She was taken to Tweed Valley Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police have established a crime scene and started an investigation into the cause of the crash. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
