Member for Myall Lakes Tanya Thompson says the 2026 Myall Lakes Seniors Concerts have raised more than $2600 for local charities after four performances in Forster and Taree.
The popular concerts returned this year after not being held in 2025, attracting strong crowds of local residents who enjoyed the entertainment while supporting community causes.
Funds raised through gold coin donations at the door will be shared between the Mental Health Carers Support Group and the Can Assist Manning Valley branch.
“It was fantastic to see so many people turn out, have a laugh, sing along and at the same time help raise more than $2,600 for two very deserving local charity groups,” Mrs Thompson said.
“After missing the concerts last year, it was wonderful to see them back again and enjoyed by so many people.”
Mrs Thompson thanked volunteers and sponsors whose support helped make the concerts possible, and acknowledged Club Forster and Club Taree for donating their venues.
Key sponsors included Glaica House, Allan Pearse Funerals, Linked Community Services, Whiddon Group, Get Up & Go Transport, Insure More and Valley Industries.
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, donated and supported these concerts. It’s another great example of our community coming together to help those in need,” Mrs Thompson said.
