A man has been charged over a serious crash at Lakewood, near Laurieton, that left two women needing hospital treatment.
Emergency services were called to Ocean Drive about 6:15 am on Sunday, 26 July, following a two-vehicle crash.
Two women, aged 51 and 63, who were travelling in an SUV were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
One woman was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, while the other was taken by road to Port Macquarie Hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 30-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Port Macquarie Hospital.
Police established a crime scene on Ocean Drive and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit began an investigation.
Following inquiries, police attended a home at nearby Kew on Saturday, 29 August, where they spoke with the 30-year-old man.
He was issued a court attendance notice for dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm) and not keep left of median strip – motor vehicle.
The man is due to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday, 14 October.
