Teenager charged following alleged break and enter at Coffs Harbour

A teenage boy has been charged following an alleged aggravated break and enter in Coffs Harbour yesterday. Between midnight and 7am on Thursday, 22 January 2026, a break and enter occurred at a home on Macauleys Headland Drive, Coffs Harbour. During the incident, cash, electronics, two vehicles and a motorbike were allegedly stolen.

Police attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District were notified about 7am yesterday and commenced inquiries into the incident. About 9.35am, police attended a home in Coffs Harbour where one of the vehicles was located. A 16-year-old boy was arrested at the home and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.

There he was charged with breach of bail and six other offences, including aggravated break and enter with intent – knowing person there, three counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, goods suspected stolen in/on premises, and possess housebreaking implements.

He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today (Friday, 23 January 2026), where he was formally refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Friday, 30 January 2026.
