Handcrafted calm: Rhondalas Mandalas brings mindful beauty to the North Coast

A passion for creativity, mindfulness and meaningful design is at the heart of Rhondalas Mandalas, a small North Coast business transforming simple spaces into places of calm and beauty.

Owned and operated by local artist Rhonda Jones, the business officially launched in 2025 after a year spent refining her craft – painting, dotting and framing intricate mandalas by hand. What began as a personal creative outlet has quickly grown into a distinctive offering within the region’s vibrant handmade scene.

“Rhondalas Mandalas is my heart-led passion creating hand-painted, geometric mandalas designed to bring calm, balance, colour and beauty into your personal space,” Rhonda said.

Each piece is meticulously created using a hand-dotting technique, a process that requires patience, precision and a steady hand. The result is a collection of artworks that are not only visually striking but also deeply personal.

“Each piece is individually hand-dotted with care, patience and intention, making every mandala truly a one-of-a-kind artwork,” she said.

Drawing inspiration from nature, stillness and mindfulness, Rhonda’s designs are more than decorative – they are intended to evoke a sense of grounding and inner peace. Soft symmetry, layered patterns and carefully chosen colour palettes come together to create artworks that feel both contemporary and timeless.

“My designs are inspired by nature, stillness and mindfulness, created from the heart to support relaxation, grounding and inner peace,” Rhonda explained.

Locals and visitors can find Rhondalas Mandalas at popular regional markets, including the Harbourside Markets in Coffs Harbour and the Beachside Markets in South West Rocks, where the intricate detail of each piece can be appreciated up close. The stall has quickly become a drawcard for those seeking something unique, handcrafted and meaningful.

For those unable to attend in person, a selection of pieces is also available online through Madeit, although Rhonda notes that not all works make it to the digital store – adding to the exclusivity of her creations.

In addition to ready-made pieces, Rhonda also offers commissioned artworks, allowing customers to collaborate on a design that suits their personal style, space and intention.

At its core, Rhondalas Mandalas reflects a growing appreciation for slow-made, intentional art – pieces that tell a story and carry the energy of their creator. In a fast-paced world, Rhonda’s work invites people to pause, breathe and reconnect with their surroundings.

“Discover the magic of hand-painted mandalas, lovingly created by myself,” she said.

“Rhondalas Mandalas are original designs, hand-dotted with love and intention, and will be a beautiful addition to every home.”
