Lennox Head will come alive on Saturday, June 13, as the Love Lennox Festival returns with a packed program of live music, family entertainment, community activities and a major focus on sustainability.

More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the free event, which has become one of the Northern Rivers’ most popular community festivals, attracting locals and visitors alike to the seaside village.

Running from sunrise through to 5 pm, the festival will transform the heart of Lennox Head into a vibrant pedestrian precinct, with Ballina Street closed to traffic and activities spread across Lennox Park, Ross Park and surrounding streets.

Festivalgoers can enjoy a diverse lineup of live music, a classic car show, market stalls, food vendors, surf and skate demonstrations, children’s activities and performances throughout the day.

The day will begin with a sunrise surf session at 6.30 am before the popular Dogly Fun Show officially opens the main stage program in Lennox Park from 8.30 am.

Live music on the Lennox Stage will feature performances from Sam Buckley & Band, JB’s Blues Breakers, Lily-Grace Grant, The Mumblers and Pink Zinc, while Ross Park will host a family-focused entertainment program including Joel Salom and Erik the Robot Dog, Bunny Racket and DJ Cam.

A dedicated busking stage will also showcase local musicians and emerging performers throughout the festival.

Returning favourites include the classic car show, which will once again bring an impressive collection of vintage and unique vehicles into the town centre, while families can enjoy a petting zoo, jumping castles and a range of children’s activities.

The festival continues to play an important role in supporting local businesses during the cooler months, encouraging visitors to explore Lennox Head’s cafés, restaurants and retail stores throughout the day.

This year’s event also marks the festival’s most ambitious environmental initiative to date.

Organisers have introduced a range of sustainability measures aimed at reducing waste and minimising the festival’s environmental footprint, including reusable food and beverage containers, on-site wash stations and expanded composting facilities.

Fifteen food and beverage vendors will participate in a reusable container program designed to eliminate thousands of single-use items, while FOGO (Food Organics and Garden Organics) bins will be introduced across the site to divert food waste from landfill.

A newly appointed Sustainability Officer will oversee the initiatives and collect data throughout the event to produce a Sustainability Impact Report, helping organisers measure environmental outcomes and identify future improvements.

The festival is delivered by Business Lennox Head, a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation, with support from Ballina Shire Council, local businesses, sponsors and community volunteers.

Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the free shuttle bus service operating between Ballina and Lennox Head from 8 am to 5.45 pm to help reduce congestion and ease parking pressures.

Ballina Street, from the Lennox Hotel bottle shop to Park Lane, will be closed from 6 am to 7 pm, with several surrounding streets also affected by temporary traffic changes.

Love Lennox Festival is free to attend and will run from 6.30 am to 5 pm on Saturday, June 13.
