Billabong Zoo Koala & Wildlife Park has taken home four major honours at the Coastline Bank Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards, capping a standout night for the family-owned tourism attraction.
The wildlife park was recognised for Tourism & Attractions, Excellence in Medium Business and Employer of Choice, while Operations Manager Blake Stone won Outstanding Young Business Leader for his role in the zoo’s growth.
The four wins earn Billabong Zoo a place at the Regional Business Awards in September, where it will represent Port Macquarie and the Mid North Coast.
Stone said the recognition reflected the work of the entire team rather than any one person.
“We are beyond proud of our incredible team,” he said.
“These awards belong to every keeper who arrives in the early morning to care for our animals, every café team member serving visitors with a smile, every grounds and administration staff member, and every person who pours their heart into making Billabong Zoo such a special place.”
A Billabong Zoo spokesperson said Stone’s individual award was well deserved.

The spokesperson said winning across four very different categories in one night made the result especially meaningful.

Billabong Zoo also congratulated fellow finalists and award winners on the night, and thanked Business Port Macquarie for recognising the businesses and individuals helping drive the region’s success.
