Clarence Valley residents have been assured council services and projects will continue uninterrupted following the appointment of an interim administrator.
NSW Minister for Local Government has appointed John Rayner PSM to oversee Clarence Valley Council for three months, taking over the governing responsibilities of elected councillors.
During his appointment, Rayner will work with council executives and staff to provide governance oversight and support the council’s future performance.
The council has confirmed it remains fully operational, with no changes expected to the delivery of community services, facilities or ongoing projects.
Council staff will continue their day-to-day responsibilities, with a focus on maintaining services and delivering outcomes for the Clarence Valley community.
The council has acknowledged residents may have questions about the temporary governance arrangements and says further information will be released as it becomes available.
