Casino-based country rock artist Billy Gudgeon is kicking off 2026 with the release of his latest single, Bigger Days & Better Nights.
The new track, released on February 27, has already picked up attention, featuring on Apple Music’s New in Country and Happy Hour playlists.
Gudgeon said the song was inspired by a simple moment after one of his live shows that stayed with him.
“After a show, a couple of fans came up to me and said they’d been chasing bigger days and better nights and felt like they’d finally found it there,” Billy said.
“I went home and wrote the chorus and the first verse from that line, and it all grew from there.”
The single, his ninth release, leans into a classic country rock sound designed for live performance and easy listening.
“It’s a straight-down-the-line country rock song,” he said.
“It’s driving music. Something light that you can switch off to and I would describe it as fun music that feels like home.”
Originally from Gulgong, Gudgeon said the track captures the feeling of wanting to escape the everyday and chase something more meaningful.
Lyrically, the song centres on the pull of getting away from the daily grind, whether that means open space, good company or simply a better night out.
Gudgeon said the release marks the beginning of a bigger push in his music career this year.
“I’m stepping things up this year,” he said.
“I want to get more people along to the live shows and keep growing the music. That’s the goal.”
He said the track is made to be played loud, whether on road trips or during nights out.
