On the Coffs Coast, where creativity meets conscious living, Cotton Whimsy Studio is quietly redefining what it means to wear and gift with intention.
Founded and run by Coffs Harbour maker Rebecca Nowaczek, the label is a celebration of slow fashion and artisan crochet. Each piece is handcrafted using premium natural fibres, including GOTS-certified organic cotton, resulting in garments and homewares that feel as good as they look.
“Cotton Whimsy Studio is owned and run by me,” Rebecca said. “I’m a Coffs Harbour maker, clinical optometrist and mum of three.”
“I design and hand-crochet every piece myself, bringing together my love of creativity, nature, colour and ethical making.”
That balance of artistry and intention is woven into every stitch. From delicate garments and accessories to bespoke gifts and homewares, no two pieces are quite the same. It’s a far cry from fast fashion – this is craftsmanship designed to last.

“My products include crocheted garments, accessories, homewares and bespoke gifts, all handmade locally in Coffs Harbour,” Rebecca said.
“What makes them special is the time, care and intention in every stitch. These are not mass-produced items, but slow, thoughtful pieces designed to be loved, worn, gifted and kept.”
At the heart of the brand is a commitment to sustainability and mindful production. Each item is made in small batches or as a one-of-a-kind custom order, ensuring minimal waste and maximum individuality. The use of natural cotton fibres not only enhances comfort but also reflects a deeper respect for the environment.
“All are crafted with cotton, making them soft, breathable, sustainable and gentle on the planet,” Rebecca explains.

This dedication to ethical fashion is gaining wider attention, with Rebecca set to showcase her runway collection, Botanic Reverie, at the upcoming Macleay Valley Fashion Show on June 13. The collection promises to bring her signature textures and nature-inspired palette to the catwalk.
For those seeking something meaningful, whether it’s a wearable piece of art or a thoughtful handmade gift, Cotton Whimsy Studio offers a beautiful reminder that slow fashion isn’t just a trend, but a way forward.
