Man charged after police allegedly seize ketamine worth an estimated $1 million

A 24-year-old man has been charged after police allegedly found about 20kg of ketamine during a vehicle stop in the Manning-Great Lakes region.

Police said officers stopped a vehicle for roadside testing about 3:45 pm on Monday, 22 June 2026.

The alleged driver underwent a roadside drug test, which police allege returned a positive result for cocaine. A secondary oral fluid sample was also taken and will be sent for further analysis.

Police said officers later searched the vehicle and allegedly seized $1,740 in cash and approximately 20kg of ketamine.

The ketamine has an estimated street value of $1 million, according to police.

The man was arrested and taken to Forster Police Station, where he was charged with supplying a prohibited drug in a quantity greater than or equal to a large commercial quantity, possessing a prohibited drug, and recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime valued at $5,000 or less.

He was refused bail and was scheduled to appear before Bail Division Court 1 on Tuesday, 23 June 2026.
