The Coffs Coast tourism industry is celebrating after 11 local businesses, attractions and experiences were named finalists in the 2026 North Coast Regional Tourism Awards.
The shortlist highlights the breadth and quality of the region’s tourism offering across accommodation, attractions, events, visitor experiences, food and beverage, arts and culture, and ecotourism.
The awards will be held in Coffs Harbour next month, marking the first time the city has hosted the event since staging the inaugural awards in 2017.
The City of Coffs Harbour’s award-winning Yarrila Arts and Museum (YAM) is among the finalists, capping a strong year for the gallery following its presentation of the blockbuster RELICS: A New World Rises exhibition.
YAM is a finalist in the Cultural Tourism category, which recognises businesses that foster greater understanding and appreciation of culture, history, heritage and the arts. Judging is based on cultural responsibility, excellence in marketing, excellence in customer service, and excellence in sustainable and responsible business.
“To have so many local operators named as being among the best of the best shows their absolute commitment to providing a professional, quality offering,” Mayor Nikki Williams said.
“The tourism industry is super competitive and it’s much broader than often imagined, as it overlaps with traditional shopping retail which can be an additional drawcard for visitors.”
The Coffs Coast finalists are:
- Aanuka Beach House
- C-Change Adventures
- Coffs Coast Accommodation
- Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary
- Coffs Harbour Trike and Private Tours
- Hoey Moey (Park Beach Hotel Motel)
- Spare Chef Catering
- The Big Banana Fun Park
- Tidal Sounds Music Festival (Hoey Moey)
- Woolgoolga Brewing Co
- Yarrila Arts and Museum (YAM)
City Economic Development and Tourism Section Leader Nicole McLennan said the region’s strong representation reflected the dedication and innovation of local tourism operators.
“Having 11 Coffs Coast businesses and experiences recognised as finalists is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the passion, professionalism and commitment of our local tourism industry,” McLennan said.
“These businesses play an important role in shaping the visitor experience and contribute significantly to the local economy by attracting visitors, supporting jobs and showcasing everything that makes Coffs a desirable destination.”
The North Coast Regional Tourism Awards recognise excellence across the tourism industry, celebrating businesses that demonstrate outstanding customer service, innovation, sustainability and business performance.
The 2026 awards, together with the North Coast Tourism Symposium, will be held at Pacific Bay Resort in Coffs Harbour on 30 July.
The event will bring together tourism industry leaders, operators and advocates from across the region to showcase the innovation, resilience and excellence driving the North Coast visitor economy.
“I congratulate all finalists on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to celebrating their success at the gala awards,” McLennan said.
