Funding available to help preserve Clarence Valley heritage

Clarence Valley Council is inviting applications for its Local Heritage Fund, which supports owners of heritage-listed properties and contributory buildings within Heritage Conservation Areas to undertake essential maintenance and conservation works. The fund also supports related projects, including heritage interpretation.

The grant program is jointly funded by Clarence Valley Council and Heritage NSW. Funding is allocated each year to a different area of the Clarence Valley, providing a targeted approach to conservation works while ensuring owners and managers of heritage places across the region have equitable access to funding over time.

For the 2026–27 funding round, priority will be given to heritage items and contributory properties in rural areas, including rural and coastal villages outside Maclean and the surrounding area.

The 2025–26 funding round prioritised projects in Grafton and South Grafton. The 2024–25 round focused on Maclean and the surrounding area, including Ashby, Brushgrove, Chatsworth Island, Cowper, Harwood, Iluka, James Creek, Lawrence, Palmers Island, Shark Creek South Arm, Tullymorgan, Tyndale and Yamba.
