Sporting organisations across the Mid North Coast and North Coast are being encouraged to apply for funding through the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program, with up to $50,000 available in each state electorate to support community sport projects.
Eligible clubs and organisations in the electorates of Lismore, Clarence, Coffs Harbour, Oxley, Port Macquarie and Myall Lakes can apply for grants of between $2,000 and $20,000 for new equipment, participation programs and facility upgrades that encourage more people to get involved in sport and active recreation.
Lismore MP Janelle Saffin said local sporting clubs played an important role in their communities.
“The Local Sport Grant Program helps these clubs buy vital equipment and resources to continue their great work of bringing communities together to enjoy the benefits of sport and active recreation,” Saffin said.
“So, jump online, complete the application and let’s get more kids and adults participating in sport and active recreation across our electorate.”
Last year, the NSW Government awarded $4.49 million to 586 community sport projects across the state.
This year’s program will provide up to $50,000 in funding in each electorate, supporting projects that increase participation and retention, create inclusive opportunities for under-represented groups, and strengthen the sustainability, capability and facilities of community sporting organisations.
Applications close at 1 pm on Monday, August 17.
