A 69-year-old man has died after being thrown from his motorcycle in a crash at Bingleburra, about 17 kilometres west of Dungog, on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to Bingleburra Road about 11.50am on Saturday, 12 September, following reports a motorcycle rider had sustained serious injuries.
Police were told the man was riding with a group of other motorcyclists when he crashed into a safety barrier and was ejected from the bike.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated him at a nearby oval, but he died before he could be airlifted to hospital.
Officers attached to the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District have established a crime scene and seized the damaged motorcycle for forensic examination.
Police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and the man's death, with a report to be prepared for the Coroner.
