Volunteer-run halls in the Nambucca Valley are about to host high-profile music acts, and a Macksville youth Dungeons & Dragons campaign has landed funding too.
Nambucca Valley Council voted to back six applicants in Round 1 of its 2026-27 Community Grants Program. The money totals $24,981.96, from a pool of $50,000 for the year.
Arts MNC, auspicing Archive MNC, gets $5000 for its Roaming Hall Concert Series. It will visit Argents Hill, Valla, and Talarm Halls, and the project also includes mentoring for local support artists.
Nambucca Valley Mayor Gary Lee said he could not wait for the first notes.
“I’m really looking forward to hearing some great music and seeing some unique performances when Arts MNC and Archive MNC deliver its roaming hall concert series at Argents Hill, Valla and Talarm Halls,” he said.
Key Community Group also gets $5000 for Rainbow Connect Nambucca. ShoreTrack receives $4258 for its Cooking Up Skills Youth Kitchen Project, and the Lions Club of Nambucca Heads gets $4000 for the Nambucca Lions Christmas Festival 2027.
In Bowraville, Phoenix Macleay Options receives $3923.96 for the Festival of Phoenix.
“Festival of Phoenix by Phoenix Macleay Options in Bowraville will be another event not to be missed,” Mayor Lee said.
Bellingen Readers & Writers Festival gets $2800 for its Youth Dungeons & Dragons Macksville campaign season.
“I’m pleased Council is also supporting an organisation set to deliver fun events for local youth, with the Dungeons & Dragons program gaining great support from young people attending Macksville Youth Hub,” he said.
Applications opened from about 6 August to 21 August. Mayor Lee thanked every group that applied.
“I thank all of our community groups and nfps that applied for a grant in this round of applications, as your projects will help to achieve Theme 1 in the Nambucca Valley Community Strategic Plan 2035, building an inclusive, safe and connected community.”
