Lismore locals are invited to pull up a chair and have a chat with police officers over a free coffee.
Coffee with a Cop comes to the Coffee Thyme Coffee Shop at Goonellabah Shopping Centre on Tuesday, 3 November, from 10am to 11:30am.
The event is a community initiative to bring police and residents together in a relaxed setting. It is meant to encourage open conversation and strengthen relationships in the community.
People can meet officers, ask questions, raise community concerns, and find out more about local policing. There is no formal agenda and no need to register. Entry is free.
Unlike a traditional meeting, organisers say the event creates a setting where meaningful conversations can happen naturally. They say that helps build trust and understanding between police and the community they serve.
Goonellabah Shopping Centre Senior Centre Manager Melinda Boyle said the centre is proud to host the event.
“Initiatives like Coffee with a Cop allow people to feel engaged and connected, which helps to build a strong community,” she said.
Whether you are a regular visitor, a local business owner, or just keen to meet the officers who serve the community, everyone is encouraged to come along.
