Ballina audiences are being invited into a world of pure imagination this May as Emmanuel Anglican College prepares to stage its latest major musical production, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The West Ballina campus will transform into Willy Wonka’s magical chocolate factory across eight performances, bringing together a talented cast and crew of primary and secondary students from across the region.
Known for producing high-quality school musicals, Emmanuel Anglican College has become a growing part of Ballina’s performing arts scene, with this year’s production expected to attract strong community support.
Directed by Northern Rivers theatre-maker Anouska Gammon, the show promises a colourful and energetic experience for audiences of all ages, featuring chocolate waterfalls, curious Oompa-Loompas, larger-than-life characters and memorable musical numbers.

Gammon said one of the highlights of the production had been seeing students develop confidence, creativity and teamwork throughout rehearsals.
“The students have really embraced the scale, energy and imagination of this show. There’s so much talent across both cast and crew, and we’re excited to share it with the wider community.”
Interest is already building ahead of opening night, with tickets selling steadily as Ballina families and theatre lovers prepare for the much-loved Roald Dahl story to come to life on stage.
The production will run from Thursday, 14 May, to Saturday, 23 May at the Lindsay Walker Centre, Emmanuel Anglican College, West Ballina.
Tickets are on sale now and can be booked online at https://www.eac.nsw.edu.au.
