Brisbane Roar returns to Lismore for preseason clash

Lismore football fans will get another taste of A-League action when Brisbane Roar returns to Crozier Field for a preseason clash this month.

The Roar will face 2026 NPL Northern NSW premiers Broadmeadow Magic FC on Sunday, 11 October, with kick-off at 12.30pm.

The match follows last year’s exhibition fixture against the Newcastle Jets and will give local fans the chance to watch elite-level football ahead of the new A-League season.

The event is being delivered by Lismore City Council in partnership with Football Far North Coast, with organisers expecting the fixture to attract spectators from across the Northern Rivers.

Lismore City Mayor Steve Krieg said major sporting events provided benefits for both local fans and businesses.

“Lismore is ready for bigger events and bigger opportunities and fixtures like this show we have the facilities and the community support to deliver. We’re building a strong future for major events in our city, with elite sport and live entertainment putting Lismore firmly on the national events map,” he said.

“For local families and young footballers, this is a chance to see top-level athletes in their own backyard. It also brings visitors from across the Northern Rivers, supporting our cafes, pubs and shops. I encourage everyone to secure their tickets early, pack the stands and give Brisbane Roar and Broadmeadow Magic FC a warm Lismore welcome.”

The fixture will also continue Brisbane Roar’s growing connection with the Northern Rivers.

Brisbane Roar Chief Operations Officer Zac Anderson said Lismore would play an important role in the club’s preseason preparations.

“We are thrilled to bring the squad back to Lismore as part of our preseason preparations with this match against Broadmeadow Magic, one of the most successful sides in the National Premier Leagues over the past three seasons,” he said.

“The support we received from Lismore City Council and the community in the past two years has been outstanding, and returning to Crozier Field gives our players a great opportunity to continue to prepare for the upcoming season while connecting with regional fans who love the game. We look forward to building on this strong relationship into the future.”

Tickets are now available here.

Details about youth clinics, fan competitions and the full match-day schedule are expected to be announced in the lead-up to the fixture.

Brisbane Roar will face Broadmeadow Magic FC at Crozier Field, Lismore, from 12.30pm on Sunday, 11 October.
