Community encouraged to seek support at free Taree bill assistance event

Families across the Myall Lakes region are being encouraged to access free support and advice at the upcoming “Bring Your Bills” community event in Taree.

Member for Myall Lakes Tanya Thompson said the initiative would give local residents the opportunity to connect directly with support services and access practical help with rising household costs.

Hosted by the Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON), the event will bring together major energy retailers and government agencies to help residents better understand their bills, access rebates and explore payment support options.

“We know that many families in our community are doing it tough right now,” Thompson said.

“This event is about cutting through the red tape and getting practical help directly to those who need it most. Whether you are struggling with a bill or needing advice, I strongly encourage you to speak with the experts available on the day.”

Thompson said the event was designed to ensure local people could access support in a welcoming and accessible setting close to home.

The event will be held from 10am to 2pm on Thursday, 14 May, at the First Steps Count Child and Community Centre in Taree.

Residents are encouraged to bring their current energy and water bills to receive tailored advice and support from service providers.
